Overview
The Staff Accountant is responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures.
Responsibilities
Maintain integrity of inventory ledgers, accounts and transactions.
Conduct monthly account analysis of inventory and reserves.
Weighted average cost and cost of goods analysis.
Generate and record journal entries.
Research discrepancies and account reconciliations.
Calculate inventory trend performance and ratios.
Assist in margin reporting, financial analysis and budgeting.
Participate in preparation of monthly financial package and reports.
Financial audit preparation.
Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures.
Physical inventory and cycle count preparation and analysis.
Verify, record and analyze inventory adjustments, allowances and reserves.
Participate in monthly and year end close.
Work internally with the Retail, Merchandising, IT and franchise partners with inventory related activities and field questions regarding inventory concerns.
