Job Description
The role of the Professional Registered Nurse is to provide quality nursing care in collaboration with the medical staff and within the guidelines of the New Jersey State Nurse Practice Act. It is the responsibility of the Professional Nurse to implement the Hospital's Mission and goals through established policies, procedures and performance improvement activities. Implementation of these goals occurs through organization and administration of individualized age specific professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit of the hospital. The understanding of the principles of growth and development will be incorporated to assess each patient's age specific needs and determine age specific treatment modalities.
Additional Requirements
To qualify you must have a current RN License in NJ, a Current BSN BLS and completion of required skill level courses. ACLS, PALS within 6 months of hire. TNCC within 1 year of hire. Certification in Emergency Nursing preferred and highly encouraged to attain. Minimum 1 year of hospital experience, Excellent Customer Service and Communication Skills. RN s are required to work every other weekend. Delegates work assignments appropriately to individuals deemed competent to perform activity. Demonstrates Competency in Clinical Practice. Follows JCMC s documentation policies and procedures. Follows JCMC s policies and procedures related to time and attendance. Provides accurate report on patients health care status to members of the health care team. Provides and evaluates patient/family education based on the patient s individual needs. Reports changes in the patient s condition to the appropriate member of the health care team in a timely manner. Serves as mentor to new employees. Utilizes resources to provide safe, appropriate, and efficient patient care. Demonstrates proper use of the chain of command to report issues. Utilizes the nursing process including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe and effective patient care in a timely manner. Performs all other duties as assigned.
