  • Department: Ascension Connect RN Triage and Physician Answering Service

  • Schedule: 4:30 pm - 8:30 pm weeknights, 8 am - 4 pm every other weekend, and some holidays. 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities

Communicate with patients, via phone, to accurately prioritize patient calls for the medical staff.

  • Collects and enters demographic information of callers; facilitates the flow of information in software for the triage RN.

  • Understands when to escalate call concerns to the triage RN using guided tools.

  • Manages first level inbound calls for centralized RN Triage teams in a timely, accurate and consistent manner.

  • Provide counseling to patient, participant or their representative regarding pre-service requirements and instructions.

  • Ability to navigate in several software applications within this role.

  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills over the phone.

  • Performs other duties as assigned to support state & national centralized team work.

Requirements

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

  • Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Additional Preferences

  • Medical Assistant with a minimum of 3 years experience in a healthcare setting.

  • Proficient in keyboarding skills with accuracy.

  • Strong technology skills.
