EFCO is looking for a detail-oriented, self-driven individual that would be responsible for managing our CNC department. The CNC Programing Specialist role would interpret project blueprints to design programs. Candidate must have the ability to set up machines to produce the component outlined in the program with the ability to ensure product meets blueprint specifications. This role will supervise CNC operators.
Duties:
Transferring product design into computer modeling software
Program 4 axis and 5 axis mills using Mastercam
Program live tooling lathes using Mastercam
Review and fully understands 3D CAD design blueprints and technical drawings
Make calculations for programming including where material should be cut
Translates instructions into computer automated manufacturing (CAM) program
Communicates with engineers and shop operators who will use these programs
Check completed programs by running simulations or tests and have ability to generate estimated cycle times.
Determines sequence of operations in a program
Analyzes and selects speeds, feeds AND cutting tools for a program
Writes efficient programs and modifies existing ones to improve efficiency
Requirements :
Technical Degree in CNC Programming or related field or equivalent work experience.
5+ years of proven experience programming and setting-up HASS Mills and Lathes.
Background in manufacturing environment preferred.
Management or leadership experience preferred.
Excellent communication, problem solving, and PC skills are required.
Must work well with people with the ability to plan in detail and consistently meet tight timelines.
Must be a problem solver and work effectively under pressure, exercise good judgment, and demonstrate negotiating skills.
Some Travel required.
Final candidates will be required to pass a post-offer pre-employment physical and drug screen.
