New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG), a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources is seeking a Long Term Temporary (LTT) Customer Service Representative to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced call center environment.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Answer in-bound calls and directing calls to the appropriate department

  • Provide information about products and services

  • Coordinate with field representatives to ensure needs of customers are being met

  • Operate in a team environment with customer satisfaction as the goal.

Position Specifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years recent customer service experience in a fast-paced call center/customer service environment is preferred

  • Complete accelerated training and be able to pass several tests within the training period

  • This is a safety-sensitive position, and all candidates will be required to pass a Department of Transportation test as well as a background check and pre-employment physical

  • Several of the candidates in the class will be BILINGUAL in Spanish.

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time taking calls on a headset, communicating with customers, and entering information into the computer system.

  • Must possess excellent communication, organizational, and computer skills.

  • Candidates should be proactive with a high-level of initiative and be creative problem solvers.

  • Candidates should be adaptable; comfortable with learning and mastering new technologies

  • Candidates should be comfortable with cross-selling and up-selling products to customers

  • Ability to work shifts in a 24/7/365 call center

  • The first 3 months of training occur during the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM Monday through Friday.

This is a long term, temporary position, anticipated to last between 18-24 months.
