Under close supervision, performs routine engineering and CAD drafting assignments. Assignments are designed to further develop the incumbent’s job knowledge and abilities.

Responsibilities:

• Prepares simple engineering and construction drawings from sketches or verbal instructions using MicroStation or AutoCAD.

• Prepares simple engineering calculations and inputs into industry standard analysis software.

• Performs related fundamental engineering support tasks such as making/updating simple calculations, checking/reviewing drawings, proofreading reports, etc.

• Supports field assignments that may include inspections of various bridge, culvert, and dam structures.

Requirements:

• Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering program (or a closely related field)

• Candidates must have basic knowledge of CAD, spreadsheets, interpreting design drawings and technical writing

• Interest in Structural Engineering (design, inspection, construction)

• Self-motivated team player with strong verbal and written skills
