Owned by FOX Corporation, FOX News Media reaches 200 million people each month. JOB DESCRIPTION Hybrid is preferred, but remote opportunities are also being considered. The Principal Engineer will play a key role in defining architecture, developing, integrating and maintaining the Fox video ad platform, as well as engineering video-based ad solutions from scratch consumed by all Fox brands. This role will help influence our web, mobile and CTV development stacks to create enterprise-level video advertising integrations and SDKs. They will solve challenging technical problems and maintain good communication with other developers and stakeholders, such as designers, program managers, and product managers. In addition to coding, they will help develop and maintain CI/CD solutions, testing and solidify the development process. A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Develop features and ad solutions to be consumed by all websites, webapps and apps in the Fox family, such as Fox Now, Fox Sports, Fox Television Stations, Fox News, Fox Business and more Architect and develop for enterprise-level challenges such as supporting video ad platforms, supporting a wide range of clients/devices, interfacing with video backends, players and APIs Ensure timely delivery with reusable, reliable code Further the web development stack for unit testing, CI/CD workflows, and deployment Work with developers on and offsite across different development environments including backend service teams WHAT YOU WILL NEED Experience integrating video players (ex. HTML5, AVF, exoplayer, JW, TheoPlayer) Experience with various advertising platforms (ex. Freewheel, GAM, Google IMA) Experience with video ad delivery technologies (ex. CSAI, SSAI, DAI etc.) Familiarity with various Video encoding and transport technologies such as MPEG-2, MPEG-2TS, H.264, HLS, DASH Familiarity with various industry standards related to video advertising such as IAB-VAST/VMAP Experience with the latest development paradigms regarding performance, high scalability, security and coding best practices Experience with RESTful JSON feed/API consumption Experience with source control systems, specifically Git NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEAL BREAKER Previous experience developing for smart TVs preferred #Ll-CC1 #Ll-Remote Learn more about Fox Tech at #foxtech We will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories consistent with applicable law. Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $190,000.00-200,000.00 annually for California, Washington, New York City and Westchester County, NY. $158,300.00-166,600.00 annually for Colorado. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
