Responsibilities
In this role you will provide
administrative support to an Ophthalmology Multi-specialty Practice including scheduling of Laser and
Injections appointments for patients, obtain pre-authorizations, verify eligibility and benefits for services, greet
patients, and perform check-in and/or check-out.
The ideal candidate will be able to
work with little supervision and make independent decisions. Must have good
organizational and people skills and be sensitive to the needs of patients
affiliated with this practice.
Pay Range: $23.49-33.34

Qualifications
Required:
Excellent organizational skills and ability to maintain records in a clear and orderly manner at the direction of the Office Manager.
At least one year of experience working in a medical office.
Excellent interpersonal skills which promote pleasant and effective communications with patients, staff and doctors.
Sufficient knowledge of ophthalmology and its related terminology.
Working knowledge of basic medical terminology and diseases as it applies to the eye.
Familiarity with current billing practices including governmental plans.
Experience scheduling patient appointments in a computerized system.
Ability to clearly speak and write in English using correct grammar.
Sufficient computer keyboard skills to perform appointment scheduling, emailing and other related computer tasks.
Ability to prioritize tasks in a systematic manner to maximize efficiency.
Ability to demonstrate professionalism while dealing with the stressors of operating a multi-line telephone system.
Ability to work with frequent interruptions and to complete assignments in a timely manner.
Knowledge of State and Federal programs to ensure reimbursement from Medicare, Medi-Cal, CCS programs and other sponsoring agencies.
Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
Ability to multitask.
