The opportunity Our US Gas Operations - North Region Operations team is seeking an experienced, knowledgeable leader in Ohio to provide active leadership and ensure adherence to corporate policies, practices, and procedures. Reporting to the Regional Director, the Area Operations Manager applies their knowledge around safety, field operations, project management and technical processes to ensure, in accordance with all TC Energy\'s (TC) standards, policies, processes, procedures and practices, the continuous operation, maintenance, and improvement of their assigned area. Within their specified area, establishes and assures compliance with operation and maintenance policies, practices and procedures and supports the planning, administration, and control of capital, operating, and other budgets for their assigned area. *Domestic Relocation package will be offered *Posting close date: 3/1/2023 Job Responsibilities Team/People Leadership Lead, develop, mentor, coach, and support employees in the organization Effectively perform leadership activities necessary for the effective performance of a competent, proactive, and engaged staff including employee safety, employee development, salary administration, budget administration, employee performance management, counseling and motivation, recognition & reward, employee objectives, and talent management Set clear expectations and hold team accountable to meeting results; Driven through Goals and Development Process Develop and foster an environment which actively enables and encourages employee innovation, continuous improvement, and commitment to operational excellence Manage an inclusive and diverse work atmosphere of promoting open discussion, engagement and feedback, as well as communicate effectively Build and lead high performing teams setting clear expectations and holding the team accountable to meeting results Facilitate employee meetings and local teams to find answers, learn and grow Expected to conduct field observations for Policy Adherence and Safety Observations Checking and Assurance - Engaged to review of documents for critical activities. for oversight and to ask questions, while having an informed perspective on what else might be going on in the area, and what other work groups are planning Complete self-audit on a regular basis on processes such as JSA, LOTO, Work Permits etc.(after the fact checking for evidence that things have been done correctly, but reactive tactics are also important to learn and improve) Development - Leverages the work plan to observe and coach behaviors, following a predeveloped list of prompt questions to ask the technician about the hazards associated with the work they are performing, if there is a procedure to follow, how well the procedure works, what improvements we could make to the procedure, forms, Blueworx, etc. May be asked to step-up and fill in for the Regional Director and/or Regional Manager, in whole or in part, during their absence General Leadership Communicate, implement, and advocate corporate messages and programs in the spirit of the organizational vision and values.
