Family Services Supervisor
Our Family Services department is seeking a Family Services Supervisor, to assist the Director of Family Services with the various tasks related to working with homeless families. The supervisor will help oversee 88+ cases and 11+ staff members. They will be responsible to maintain various critical files required by DHS and OTDA. They will assist the Director with the following -- auditing of cases, networking with outside agencies to provide the staff with additional referral sources, and when needed will cover a caseload due to staff vacancy. The candidate will also assist the Director with training and onboarding of new staff members. Knowledge of DHS CARES system a plus.

Homes for the Homeless, Inc. (HFH) is a non-profit social services organization operating family shelters throughout NYC that serve as a hub of opportunity for families both residing in shelter as well as those in the neighboring community. On-site programs range from childcare, early childhood education centers, afterschool clubs and programs, and youth recreation activities, such as sports teams, to housing assistance, case management, parenting workshops, career and job vocational training, support groups and substance abuse assistance, and family engagement and recreation events for the whole family.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the Director of Family Services with the day-to-day operation of the program.
Assist with the supervision of 88+ cases.
Conduct case audits.
Able to network with outside agencies to increase the departments referrals sources. Manage and maintain several program reports.
Maintain critical files required by DHS.
Carry a case load when there is a staff vacancy.
Able to consult cases with family service staff.
Assist with filing, new intakes, unit inspections.
Train new staff.
Conduct client case conferences.
Ability to work with a diverse population.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in related field
At least one year of supervisory experience
Proficient in computers
Knowledge of word and excel
Spanish speaking a plus
