Title: Business Planning & Operations Manager I

Our team’s mission is to enable Product & Technology to close the gaps between current performance and our short & long-term company goals. We use a variety of skillsets to improve the organization's collaboration while having a bias towards action and execution. The PMO (Program Management Office) Team leads the orchestration of Business Planning, Program/Project management, Agile enablement, and Product operations to create the highest level of efficiency possible within Paylocity’s Product & Technology organization.

We are looking for a Business Planning & Operations Manager that brings great teamwork, positive attitude, high-energy leadership, and exceptional execution to our team. As our team has grown, the challenges related to our scale-up have grown, too. We are looking for Business Operations Managers to help our teams proactively address a diverse array of cross-functional business challenges. There is a broad spectrum of unique and interesting business challenges to solve, making this team an ideal place to gain both executive and operational experience in an ultra-high-growth business.

Who you are:

  • A team player with boundless energy, intelligence, and an overwhelming need to achieve

  • An ambitious individual who is proactive and able to work under minimal supervision at a detailed level while taking account of interdependencies at higher levels.

  • Collaborative, flexible and driven to partner with teams and individuals in achievement of their goals.

  • Ready to fill in leadership/functional gaps in high growth areas and functions that require additional and temporary leadership support.

  • Naturally, analytical mindset; that gravitates toward a data rather than a slide deck

  • Experience in a highly cross functional role and can clearly describe and work within the organizational dynamics of a fast-growth company

  • Ability to execute with conviction and good judgment with limited guidance; needs minimal direction in an ambiguous context to act and then adapt quickly

  • Highly emotionally intelligent, possessing the ability to adjust style to meet the needs of the audience

  • Great problem solver with the intellectual ability to understand the content and to make connections.

  • Can influence outcomes and lead through conflict.

  • Can synthesize disparate information quickly to develop a succinct, accurate summary of the opportunity/need.

  • Comfortable operating under new, ambiguous and/or changing conditions with proven problem solving and decision-making skills

What You Will Do:

  • Identify hotspots in the business that require intervention and proactively investigate, strategize, and implement solutions with those business leaders

  • Partner with functional leaders to help them optimize their operations through systems, process, and operating modifications

  • Reimagining and executing the annual planning process across financial planning, defining annual goals and resource planning

  • Drive Product & Technology organization’s operating rhythm with a focus on the operating mechanisms (meetings/reviews) where the progress of goals and outcomes are reviewed

  • Manage and improve the team level goal process and thought partner across the business to define high-quality goals and ensure regular updates

  • You will be asked to tackle a variety of unstructured problems, dissect them, synthesize a set of actionable insights and partner in the execution & implementation of the solution.

  • Be a champion for ‘great execution,’ leading all aspects of activity and providing mentoring so the job gets done while understanding that ownership for execution of initiatives rests with individual members.

  • Contribute to error-free and efficient day to day execution by directly taking on, documenting, and continuously improving tools and processes across various teams as needed

  • Bring best practices to develop, implement, and manage policies and processes that scale our business operations

  • Drive automation and improve existing business systems and reporting

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of work experience in roles that were delivering impact across an organization. Examples include being part of a strategy or business operations team in a technology company, and/or helping improve efficiency or effectiveness in a business function of a technology company.

  • Demonstrated ability to understand end-to-end processes and come up to speed quickly on new business domains

  • Passion for excellence and the desire to have a significant impact on the business

  • Highly self-motivated and willing to proactively take on issues within teams and the company at large

  • Well-rounded interpersonal skill set with the capacity to build strong relationships with senior executives

  • Excellent quantitative analytical skills, creativity in problem solving and a keen business sense.

  • Demonstrated experience in preparing and delivering executive level presentations

  • Collaborative approach to decision-making on teams, including ability to influence without direct line of reporting
