The Portland International Jetport is seeking a highly motivated individual for the Engineering and Facilities Department. Under the direction of the Facilities Supervisor, this position will assist in the maintenance of complex electrical and/or mechanical systems throughout the airport terminal and parking garage facility. Responsibilities for this position include: Perform regular inspections of landside facility equipment and correct any deficiencies found; and install, maintain, and service electrical and/or heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment throughout the airport terminal building.

Requirements: Considerable knowledge of the standard practices, materials, tools and equipment of the trade. Working knowledge of methods, materials and tools used in general building maintenance and repair. Ability to understand and follow oral instructions and to interpret plans, sketches, blueprints and diagrams. Skill in locating, troubleshooting, and repairing defects on many different types of electrical and mechanical systems, or any facility-related systems. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) are required. Ability to pass all required background investigations and maintain a valid Class C Maine Drivers License.

Training & Experience Desired: Prior HVAC, Electrical, or industrial maintenance experience in a large facility. Licensed as a State of Maine Helper Electrician and/or licensed as a State of Maine Apprentice Oil Burner, Solid Fuel Technician, and or Natural Gas certification as well as an EPA certification in refrigeration preferred.

This is a Labor & Trades position, Grade 18A, with a starting pay range of \$24.60/hour.

The work schedule is Monday-Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pm. Excellent employee benefits package. Offers of employment are contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background check.
