About being our Accounting Generalist - Rotational Program

As anAccounting Generalistat Psomas, you will participate in rotational assignments designed to diversify your experience and training across each of our three (3) Corporate Accounting Departments: Accounts Payable, Payroll and General Ledger Accounting (with approximately one (1) year in each department or as needed within the organization change). This exciting Accounting Generalist role is a full-time entry-level position designed to provide recent college graduates a cross-functional, enterprise-wide learning experience within our corporate accounting department and to learn skills that are transferrable to other industries.

Accounts Payable Responsibilities:

• Responsible for initial processing and indexing of invoices
• Administer Accounts Payable system, indexing, routing for review and approval
• Perform as needed, data entry, filing, reconciliation and analysis
• Maintain vendor records on all active vendors, including W-9s and annual 1099 reconciliation and filing
• Verify electronic payment information for vendors

Payroll Responsibilities:

• Support and assist as part of our payroll team responsible for reviewing and processing of weekly and biweekly payrolls
• Corresponds as needed with employees to resolve questions or issues
• Prepare reports following each payroll submission
• Assist as needed with certified payroll reporting

General Ledger Accounting:

• Update political and charitable contributions reporting
• Prepare business license renewals and new applications
• Assist in monthly bank reconciliations
• Record cash receipts and reapplications
• Collaborate with Collections to identify unapplied receipts and duplicate receipts
• Assist in reviewing employee expense reports
• Track and collect employee advances and miscellaneous receivables

Minimum Qualifications to be our Accounting Generalist Rotational Program

• BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
• General understanding of the accounting cycle
• Advanced computer literacy, including experience in word processing, spreadsheets, network files
• Ability to work successfully and professionally in a team environment
• Good written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities and see projects through to completion
