The region is complex and challenging from a regulatory standpoint, politically charged, and yet rich with opportunity. Our full lifecycle of businesses is present in the region from oil and gas to new and renewable energy development as well as cleanup and remediation. The company has a large footprint and an even larger aspiration for the region, with a wide range of projects and acquisitions to enable, along with profitable businesses to protect and grow.
The role will be at the center of this vibrant and interesting region and report to the CR Senior Advisor for Business Integration.
CR Advisor, Low Carbon Mobility and Renewable Energy
What’s the role?
As a CR Advisor, Low Carbon Mobility & RE, you will report to the Senior CR Advisor for West Coast Business Integration, assisting in the development of policy and advocacy for the Western region with a specific focus on low and no-carbon technologies such as e-mobility, solar, and renewable natural gas.
Responsibilities for this position will include:
Supporting regulatory and legislative advocacy strategy for the Western Region in partnership with the Senior CR Advisor for Business Integration and relevant businesses—e-mobility, solar, RNG, etc.
You will be working with relevant trade associations, NGO’s, regulators, and policymakers on clean mobility and clean power issues and advocating for Shell’s positions and portfolio.
Developing and executing strategy for new-entry states like Arizona and Nevada, cultivating stakeholders and supporting Shell investments and enabling policy
You will be supporting CR Advisor for Assets and Projects in issue management and stakeholder relations for West Coast facilities and operations, with an emphasis on Renewables and Energy Solutions' investments and new states
Advocating for multi-state initiatives in support of Shell investments such as building a regional carbon trading market; advocating for regional power transmission; supporting sound fuel policy; protection of RNG (Renewable Natural Gas) in state carbon policy; and supporting the development of RNG (Renewable Natural Gas) projects to serve LCFS states
Requirements
What we need from you
You must have legal authorization to work in the USA on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
Minimum of 5 – 7 (five to seven) years of experience working with public relations or government relations experience, regulators, and stakeholders
You must have an exposure in Solar, EV Charging, Hydrogen, Offshore Wind, Fuels and Natural Gas
Bachelor’s degree in any related field is required
Good background in liquid fuels, low carbon fuels, and environmental/carbon policy
Strong understanding of the energy transformation and new and renewable energies landscape
Value-based mindset and ability to leverage reputation and stakeholder work to create and protect value for the business and projects
Good business partnering skills and ability to co-create value with local business leader
Knowledge and experience in the region
Location – You must be flexible within California, Oregon, Washington
The base salary range for this position in the United States is $122, 000 - $182,000 per year. Individual pay will be based on various factors such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity.
