ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF NURSING Barron Center

The Barron Center is a 219-bed, municipally operated, long-term and skilled care nursing home which includes a dementia unit. The City of Portland and the Barron Center take pride in our long history of compassionate and individualized care. This is an amazing opportunity to be a part of a team, supervising a stable and high functioning staff of Nurse Managers, Supervisors and direct care staff. The Assistant Director of Nursing will support the Director of Nursing to assume responsibility for the oversight of clinical practice, regulatory compliance, and above all, commitment to meeting the needs of residents and their families. Responsibilities include; overseeing the department budget, regulatory compliance, staffing patterns and personnel issues.
Qualifications and Requirements: Current Maine licensure as a Registered Nurse (Bachelors Preferred). Experience in gerontological nursing, preferably in management. Knowledge of State and Federal regulations governing the operation of a long-term care facility. On-Call Rotation - Taking Calls and potentially working a shift on a residential unit. Considerable experience in rehabilitative, gerontological and long-term care nursing. Proven ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Ability to lead a professional staff through continued change. Willingness and flexibility to do what it takes to help maintain our high standards. Must successfully complete a pre-employment physical exam. Offers of employment are contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory criminal background check and references.
This position is a Non-Union position - Grade C52 - Annual salary range is \$78,362-\$99,283. Starting rate will be based on previous experience.
