KPMG is currently seeking an Assistant General Counsel to join our Office of General Counsel in our Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance organization.
Responsibilities:
Identify and assess employment-related legal risks and opportunities and advise Human Resources accordingly
Counsel Human Resources and Ethics & Compliance on misconduct and other investigations relating to potential violations of federal, state and local law, professional practice standards, and/or Firm policy
Review and analyze restrictive covenants and other restrictions in applicants' employment agreements
Coordinate with and provide advice to various levels of Firm management on employment matters
Provide training to Firm personnel on employment related-risks relevant to the Firm
Advise on employment law developments at the federal, state and local level
Qualifications:
Minimum six years of recent experience handling employment counseling and/or employment litigation, covering a broad range of employment-related topics, in a leading law firm, large corporate environment or government entity
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university; J.D. and/or LL.M. from an accredited law school
Licensed to practice law in the U.S; experience with immigration and benefits matters an added plus
Thought leadership and strategic thinking in sensitive and complex situations, and the highest ethical standards, integrity, authenticity, credibility and character
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interact effectively and work collaboratively with individuals at all levels, including senior leadership; outstanding analytical, writing, and oral presentation skills
Able to demonstrate a commitment to driving diversity, equity and inclusion at the group, enterprise, industry or community level
