The Digital Producer, Growth and Engagement, writes and produces content to promote CBS News' Streaming coverage and engage and grow our digital audience. The ideal candidate is a skilled writer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and loves to work collaboratively across teams.The shift for this role is Monday-Friday from 2 to 10pm ET. You may need to work some holidays and shift your schedule as needed.
Role and Responsibilities:
Identify popular segments that air on CBS News Stream; write SEO-friendly video headlines and pitch/write accompanying articles to promote the coverage
Produce/write engaging content to publish across CBSNews.com and YouTube (Shorts, Stories, etc.)
Craft and send breaking news and segmented push alerts to CBS News audience
Collaborate with the push alert and YouTube teams on news of the day, flagging live streaming opportunities for YouTube and CBSNews.com
Track and report trends to CBSNews.com staff, identifying SEO & other trending opportunities
Help coordinate rollouts across departments for specials, documentaries and partner promotion, creating and executing a promotional plan (crafting push copy, writing promotional articles, writing video heds/deks and ensuring videos are posted as scheduled)
Help maintain a content calendar to streamline coverage plans for tentpole events and breaking news
Contribute to G&E reports that are distributed across various verticals and platforms, identifying traffic patterns and sharing suggestions on how to grow traffic
You have 2+ years of experience in a digital breaking news environment and proven ability to react quickly as news develops
You are a skilled writer who can produce quality, SEO-friendly copy on a deadline
You're familiar with analytics platforms like Google Analytics, Omniture, Chartbeat and Parse.ly
You are a collaborative teammate who loves to work across many teams
Hiring Salary Range: $65,000.00 - 80,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
