CareWell Urgent Care is seeking an experienced, dependable Full-Time Radiologic Technologist for our state-of-the-art urgent care facility in Northborough, MA. Our ideal candidate is friendly and has excellent communication skills and is comfortable in a fast-paced environment. Radiology Techs at CareWell help us provide a critical service to our communities, allowing us to shed light on hidden problems within the patient’s body without needing to wait in an emergency department waiting room.  When not performing X-Ray our Radiology Techs help around the center, putting patient care skills to good use to help a variety of patients.

Our centers are open (7) days per week 8AM to 8PM. We are offering (3) 12-hours shifts with every other weekend.

We are offering a $2,000 sign on bonus after completing (30) days, $1,000 after completing (6) months, and $1,000 after completing (1) year.

CareWell Urgent Care is seeking a full time Radiology Technologist to join our Northborough team.

Hours: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM

Candidates must have availability to work 12 hour shifts and weekends.

Summary: The Radiologic Technologist performs radiologic exams following established procedures for patient care and safety. The Radiologic Technologist performs all the duties related to proper film identification, storage, and reporting functions.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus previous experience in role required

  • 1 or more years as a RT preferred

  • Current state license required

  • Current ARRT or equivalent certification required

  • Knowledge of X-Ray procedures and protocols

  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform X-Ray testing including body mechanics and patient movement

  • Knowledge of radiology equipment including safety hazards common to radiology

  • Ability to identify equipment problems and correcting or notifying team leader

  • Ability to apply written instructions and standardized work practices

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, patients, and families

Patient Care and Documentation:

  • Prepares patients for radiologic procedures

  • Ability to triage and take vital signs, assist in the preparation of the medical visit with provider

  • Ability to perform Clia Waived lab tests- Flu, UA, strep, mono, UCG, urine collection and blood draws and specimen handling; EKG; IV Stat; ISTAT; IV Start

  • Takes X-Rays following established procedures for patient care and safety

  • Uses a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials

  • Maintains holding logs for children

  • Ensures equipment is in working order, and reports equipment malfunctions to practice manager

  • Maintains log of x-ray procedures completed

  • Maintains and cleans examination rooms following visits and preps rooms for next visit

  • Stocks necessary medical and radiologic supplies

  • Makes CD copies of x-rays and distributes to patients as appropriate

  • Responsible for packaging, signing of medical records release forms & logging X-Rays

  • Ensures all radiographs achieve a radiographic interpretation

  • Clarify discrepancy radiology readings

  • Type radiology reports for all private and pre-placement patients

Clerical/Administrative:

  • Greet patients in a positive and helpful manner

  • Provide information and assistance as needed

  • Gather demographic and insurance information then verify insurance coverage for all patients

  • Using the computer system, generate fee slips for patients, review information for accuracy and instructions

  • Provide necessary forms to patients for completion and signatures. Ensure all registration fields are filled in completely

  • Keep patients informed of their account information

  • Use computer to order services needed for corporate patients

  • Notify nursing staff when patients are ready to be seen

  • Collect payments, insurance co-pays, and medicine charges

  • Coordinate patient care or patient records with other clinic locations when necessary

  • Gather reports from referrals

  • Be familiar with all locations, hours, directions

  • Answer telephone calls, record messages for other staff and deliver messages

  • Perform various duties such as photocopying forms, reports and patient information, faxing forms and charts

  • Perform daily filing of charts and records to ensure excellent organization in patient records

  • Maintain various logs of daily activities including patient count and financial transactions in order to prepare monthly tallies of operating activity

  • Audit and balance all financial transactions to ensure accurate daily deposits

  • Distribute mail

  • Maintain an adequate level of office supplies and necessary forms as needed to ensure smooth department operations

  • Provide positive team support for all personnel and departments
