Kforce's client, a growing global engineering technology company in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a few Mid to Senior Product Safety Engineers. We are working directly with the Hiring Manager on these search assignments. The company offers a competitive compensation package including base salary, annual bonus, 401K matching, Stock/RSU's, etc. Our client does provide a relocation package for out of state candidates.Summary:The Product Safety Engineers help support design engineering team on proper functional safety analyses, and the related risk assessments for new products and review upgrades and retrofits to existing products for safety compliance. This person will coordinate the 3rd party assessments of the equipment to comply with SEMI safety standards as provide guidance on design practices necessary to comply with these standards. The Product Safety Engineers will work together with other Product Safety Engineers (PSE) leaders to maintain global equipment design guidelines (for safety compliance). This person will provide support and ownership of customer equipment safety related questions and issues.
BS degree in technical field (Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering) or graduate of product safety compliance program
3-7 years of experience of industrial equipment safety standards (i.e., SEMI S2, Machinery Directive) out of highly regulated industries such as semiconductor, aerospace, medical device, etc.
Ability to lead and coordinate diverse stakeholder engagement from business unit engineers, managers, and external customers
Strong Project Management skills - ability to execute and drive projects to closure
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of SEMI Safety Guidelines and have the ability to interpret and apply these to equipment design requirements is a plus
Ability to lead and coordinate functional safety analyses for semiconductor industries or other highly regulated industry
Experienced in SEMI S2, SEMI S8, and other machinery/functional safety/SEMI related standards and legislation
Ability to effectively manage customer safety inquiries and issues
Nice to haves but not required:
Knowledge of European Machinery Directive (2006/42/EC) Annex 1, Annex 7 requirements or similar
Knowledge of European EMC Directive (2014/30/EU) or other global standards
Experience in leading engineering design review sessions using FMEA, HAZOP, -What-If- or other hazard identification methods of new modules and subsystems
Experience in estimating the risk of harm (per SEMI S10/SEMI S14) based on each hazard identified
Experience in providing Product Safety Engineering training sessions to design engineers
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
