The Operations Manager position will be an integral part of the Operations team. In this role, the OM will ensure the proper working organization, efficiency and productivity of the managed operations teams and individuals. Furthermore, a successful OM will be a natural leader, highly motivated and have a solid understanding of transportation and logistics principles, economics, and supply chain network behavior.
Responsibilities:
Provide inspired leadership for the managed team, individuals, and the organization.
Make important policy, planning, and strategy decisions.
Assess operations needs of sales reps to assign new team members.
Develop, implement, and review operational policies and procedures.
Oversee and drive results for enterprise sales team.
Manage a team of efficient and productive Logistics Coordinators.
Build and maintain relationships with employees in various locations with different cultures.
Help promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale.
Responsible for setting monthly goals and enforcing set company KPI's on a daily and weekly basis.
Assist with the training, development and professional advancement for all team members.
Work with Leadership to implement and carryout business development strategies.
Support communication with the management team.
Handle and manage any team issues, challenges and/or disputes.
Conduct weekly, monthly, annual performance reviews and evaluations for all managed employees.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in logistics operations.
Previous management experience within the transportation logistics industry.
Fundamental understanding of carrier procurement practices and operational load movement processes.
Ability to simultaneously interface with all levels of internal and external teams while communicating effectively.
Extremely articulate in both written and oral formats.
Ability to think “outside the box” and come up with creative solutions to complex issues.
Interest and ability to manage, train and invest time in the professional development of managed team.
Must be people-oriented.
Employee is expected to perform other duties as necessary and assigned. The duties and responsibilities of this position may be modified at any time to meet changing business needs.
Required technical skills include:
Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, MS Project).
McLeod System Software (Preferred).
Highly attentive to detail and organized.
Proven ability to provide solutions to complex problems and communicate effectively to Leadership.
