Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking an experienced and motivated Architect to support its Water Design Center.
AECOM’s Design Center located in Chelmsford, MA is nationally recognized as the center of excellence that focuses on the design of large, complex, multi-discipline, high-profile water and wastewater treatment and pumping facilities for both traditional and design-build projects throughout the U.S. The Design Center is comprised of approximately 70 staff and includes a full complement of disciplines including:
Geotechnical
Civil
Architectural
Structural
Building Mechanical (i.e., HVAC, Plumbing & Fire Protection)
Process Mechanical
Electrical
Instrumentation & Controls (I&C)
CAD/Revit Specialists
The layout and design of these water and wastewater treatment facilities and pumping stations include:
Administrative/Operations
Buildings
Pumps, piping, valves, etc.
Headworks, screening, grit removal systems
Aeration, filtration, separation, dewatering and clarification systems
Odor control systems
Chemical feed systems
Disinfection
Sludge and residual handling systems

Responsibilities include:
Support the layout and design of water and wastewater treatment facilities and pumping stations
This position will involve a variety of new and renovations to existing governmental, commercial, institutional and industrial facilities
Work under the supervision of a senior-level team member from the Chelmsford Design Center
Develop architectural plans, elevations, sections and details, as needed
Verify compliance with applicable codes and standards / practices
Coordinate with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or related field and 2 years of experience as an Architect or Architectural Designer working within the industrial architecture and/or water / wastewater industry
REVIT design experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
4 years of experience as an Architect or Architectural Designer
Master's Degree in Architecture
Ability to become a licensed architect in the future
LEED Accredited Professional
Experience with AutoCAD Architecture and Adobe Photoshop
Experience with BIM 360 and Navisworks
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy of work
Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
Ability to meet quality, schedule and budget expectations
Ability to multi-task and be flexible and able to adapt to rapidly changing project requirements and deadlines
