Role Details

MAJOR JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Accountabilities: Accountable for Providing Leadership in Support of the Safety Journey and the Companys Goal of Achieving an Injury Free Workplace. Accountable for Continuous Improvement in Workplace Safety by Promptly Addressing the Root Causes of OIIs or Near Misses, Conducting Effective Safety Meetings, Promptly Addressing Safety Concerns Raised by Employees, and Leading by Example. Accountable for EHS Compliance, Quality Policies and Procedures compliance and Environment Policies, Programs and Good Practices and maintains required records for all of these areas. Ensures adherence to standard work processes (MEWP), including Manufacturing Control and Reporting System (MCRS). Ensures compliance with corporate standards (e.g., financial, code of business conduct) and adherence to company policies. Ensures adherence to the return of equipment to production. Acts as a technical resource for production supervisors and engineers and craft people for maintenance and reliability issues.

Responsibilities: Responsible for maintenance of plant PLCs (OPTO 22, Allen-Bradley, etc.) and other control systems utilized in the facility. Responsible for maintenance of boiler burner management systems Responsible for troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems Responsible for troubleshooting and calibration of equipment specific controllers, control systems, and electrical systems. Responsible for providing training for plant employees on new software and equipment controls. Responsible for assisting Project Engineers in developing control schematics and loop drawings as needed. Responsible for providing information relating to customers' hardware and software purchasing decisions. Responsible for making sure users can use the equipment, by providing training and self help instructions. Responsible for undertaking housekeeping and reporting functions for the area of responsibility. Responsible for remaining current in all required company and job related training. Responsible for promoting harmonious working relationships. Responsible for delivering quality products and services to all internal and external customers. Responsible for representing Morton Salt ensuring proper business conduct and good public relations. Responsible for following all Safety, Environmental and Quality Control policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: AAS Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or Equivalent. Minimum of 5 years working in an industrial/maintenance environment. Excellent oral and written skills.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in developing PLC software for Allen-Bradley SLC-500, PLC5 and OPTO 22 Snap I/O Programmable Logic Controllers currently monitoring and controlling plant production equipment. Proficiency in setup, debug and maintenance of DC, SCR and variable frequency drives Understanding the vision system software controlling the can line inspection station. Understanding the Burner Management Systems on the Gas Fired Boiler. Has knowledge of power distribution systems Ability to read and understand electrical schematics. Knowledge of current industrial electrical standards and codes a plus. (NEC, NFPA 79). Knowledge of AC motors and variable frequency drives and DC motors and DC drives Must have experience working with machine supply and control wiring (24vdc to 480VAC), and industrial wiring practices. Knowledge of Fanuc, Allen-Bradley PLCs, and OPTO PLCs and computer programming as it pertains to troubleshooting machines.

Major skills needed to perform job: Electrical and Controls knowledge in an industrial setting. Ability to oversee, coach and instruct electricians. Ability to plan, organize and implement a project. Experience in a union setting a plus.
