Responsible for a day shift operation at 1275 Broadway. Responsible for the efficient distribution of assigned supplies and products from all Receiving & Distribution inventory sites and non-stock PO receipts. Coordinates the flow of staff between Mail & Courier Group and Receiving & Distribution to maintain efficient order flow. Partners with Nursing Supply Areas for efficient layout and flow of departmental medical supplies. Assist in the hiring, training and supervision of staff. Physically performs "hands on" order filling/deliveries/pickup during periods of staff shortage, or as needed. Serves to expedite service requests, etc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Directs workflow - move staff accordingly to ensure timely supply delivery.

  • Inventory Control - leads R&D staff to obtain efficient picking and minimize inventory shrinkage. Works to continuously improve processes to be more efficient.

  • Personnel Management - assists Manager with personnel activities such as hiring, orientation, continuing education, performance assessment, scheduling, corrective action, and related human resource activities. Maintains accurate and updated human resource records.

  • Directs inventory order fulfillment and delivery activities - responsible for using best practices for fulfilling and delivering inventory supplies to all assigned in-patient, out-patient, diagnostic, and administrative departments.

EDUCATION, LICENSURE, REGISTRATION AND/OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum: A.A.S. (2 year) Degree.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Supervisor / management experience in a service-support position involving inventory control and material handling/ distribution systems in a fully computerized environment. Prefer 350 + bed healthcare or industrial experience.

  • Demonstrated Intermediate level competency with Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and WMS systems like TECSYS.

  • Previous experience in inventory control techniques, and the ability to use handheld computer devices and other computer-based technology to manage inventory.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to develop win-win relationships across various levels of Center Staff.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS:

  • Capable of identifying service need, and reassigning staff to meet immediate need.

  • Ability to investigate and resolve problems.

  • Innate curiosity to learn and understand relationships.

  • Knowledge of various Materiel’s Management software tools, providing support for staff using these various software applications to support patient care.

  • Ability to hire, train, educate and lead staff.

  • Ability to perform the job according to conduct defined by the AMC Code of Conduct and Employee Manual.

  • Ability to use good judgment when performing the functions of the job or when interacting with others.

  • Accept and carry out direction, work cooperatively with others and avoid interpersonal conflict.

  • Adhere to AMC’s policies, procedures, and practices, and to utilize AMC’s problem-solving processes for resolving grievances or disagreements.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Independently organize work to meet established deadlines for submission and completion.

  • Gather data from appropriate resources, including on-line web sites and paper-based documentation.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to probe, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and speak and hear. The employee is regularly required to sit, and occasionally to stoop, kneel, or crouch.

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus on objects.

  • The employee may occasionally operate indoor powered lift equipment (electrical forklift trucks, electrical pallet lift trucks) as part of their regular duties.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The work environmental conditions described below are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • While performing this job, the employee will spend part of his/her time working in an office environment, interacting with basic office tools including computers, phones, etc. The noise level is usually moderate.

  • Part of his/her time, the employee will be working in a storage/ warehouse environment. Such areas have variable environmental conditions, including dust, noise, and room temperature.

  • Storage/ warehouse environments typically have higher physical risks, including increased risk of crush or pinch injuries, slips and falls, falling objects, indoor and outdoor vehicle traffic, and similar hazards.
